 March 3, 2021

By  Zen Chung

The Yamaha P series P35B has 88 keys and features Yamaha’s Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) action which provides authentic piano touch that’s ideal for the beginner pianist. The Yamaha P series P35B is designed using the Yamaha’s AWM sampling technology which includes simple one button operation. You can also easily connect to other keyboards using the MIDI out port or use an optional MIDI interface to connect to a computer or iPad for a variety of music Apps. Here are some of the benefits of having these features in the Yamaha P series P35B digital piano that I found.

Contents

Advanced Wave Memory Piano Voice

The advanced wave memory sampling technology provides a spacious, deep and rich piano voice that change in both volume and tone depending on the pressure put on the keys.

Simple One-Button Operation

The simple one button operation makes it easy to use and operate this piano thus making it ideal for beginners in playing the piano. You do not have to have prior skills or knowledge in operating this piano to be able to use it.

Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) Weighted Piano Action

The GHS keys are heavier in the low end and lighter in the high end making the piano responsive and comfortable to play the piano as a beginner.

Dual and Duo Mode

I found the dual and duo mode in this piano effective in helping me layer two voices by holding the “Grand Piano” button and playing the keys under the Voice names. The duo mode splits the keyboard into two halves with each halve having its own middle c thus making it easy to learn how to play a piano.

After using the Yamaha P series P35B for a long time, I can comfortably identify some of the pros and cons of this piano. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Yamaha P series P35B digital piano.

Pros

  • It is easy to use
  • Has touch sensitive keys
  • It is portable
  • Has good audio
  • Responsive / good action

Cons

  • Not All Keys Work
  • Speakers Are Minimal
  • Unrealistic sound

The Yamaha P series P35B digital piano measures 58.2 x 16.1 x 11.8 inches and weighs 35.7 pounds. It is light weight and can be used in concerts, learning and accompaniment. Whether it is your child who wants to get started with playing the piano, this piano can be of great help since it is very affordable and it is easy to use. Investing in an expensive piano for a beginner in piano might not be a wise thing to do since you are not sure that your child or the person learning to play the piano will be interested to further their skills in playing the piano. Most pianos are also complex and might require the guidance of a skilled person to be able to comfortably use the piano. The Yamaha P series P35B is easy to use and might not need any guidance to use the piano.

After using my Yamaha P series P35B digital piano for a year, I still enjoy playing it despite having advanced my skills and knowledge in playing the piano. It might not have so many features but with the few features present in this piano, you can easily and effectively play any song. If you are looking for a piano that is easy to use and one that has few features thus it is not complex, then the Yamaha P series P35B digital piano is what you should choose. The price is very affordable and you do not have to spend so much money to get a digital piano that has quality sound and added features.
